HOW TO PREPARE YOUR FILES:

1. Bounce or Consolidate your files.

  • PROTOOLS: select the entire track of the vocal, click on edit, then consolidate. Then rename the file to "lead for vs". If you are sending backround vocals also, do the same for each track: bgv1 for vs, bgv2 for vs a.s.o.
Also do the same to the two track of the music, or f you haven't bounced one yet, bounce it now and make sure you select the same file sample rate and bit depth. Please ensure that your bounce starts at the same point, probably the beginning of the session, as your vocals did before you preceed.
  • LOGIC , CUBASE, PERFORMER, NUENDO : select your audio track and either bounce it or merge it. Do this to all files in your session. Then bounce down the mix WITHOUT the vocals from the start of the session or the same point al your vocal tracks start.

We accept AIFF and WAVE files, anything from 44.1Khz to 96Khz, 16 bit or 24 bit. Please do not send us mp3's since the quality is just to bad.

Most Important: Make sure all yor audio files start at the same point in your session. It is impossible for us to assemble a session that has audio tracks starting at different points.

3. File Compression

Copy all the files : Stereo Music Track and each vocal track, to a new folder.

  • On Mac OS, right click or control click the folder and select "creat archive". Once the archive is done, name it with the song title and the tempo.... like : snowbirds_97.zip.
  • Windows:
    • Right-click one of the files and choose Send To --> Compressed (Zipped) Folder.
    • What happens next depends on whether a third-party compression utility is installed on your computer:
    • No third-party utility is installed: You're done.
    • Third-party utility is installed: Click the Yes or No button — it doesn't matter which one — when the dialog box asks whether you want to associate compressed files with the Windows XP Compression utility, not the third-party utility.
    • Windows XP wants to associate each file type with one kind of program. Here, Windows XP is asking you to make its Compression utility the official compression program on your computer, but it doesn't matter what you decide, because you can't compress files with the Compression utility if a third-party compression utility is on your computer.
    • The third-party utility compresses the files, names the compressed file after the last file you selected, and places the compressed file in the same folder as the files you compressed. In other words, if the last file you selected is called Learning3, the folder-file is called Learning3 as well. To rename a compressed folder-file, right-click it and choose Rename
